Did you know Inverurie has a twin town in France called Bagnères-de-Bigorre?

Evolving INverurie are setting up a new committee for all things twinning which will be a sub-group of EI.

We are looking for support from the people of Inverurie in progressing with a new committee to relaunch our Twinning links with Bagnères. Please come along to our open meeting on Wednesday 26th March at the GHC from 7pm to 8.30pm to find out more.

The group agreed that the objectives of the twinning were broadly around

• Promoting interest, involvement and broadening links between Inverurie and the twin town.

• Assisting Inverurie residents, schools, clubs, businesses and other organisations to establish contact with counterparts in the twin town.

• Developing a shared understanding of cultures between our local residents and residents of the twin town.

• To organise reciprocal activities for visitors from the twin town in order to welcome them, promote shared experience and further friendship and understanding.

The Local Place Plan is your chance to inform Aberdeenshire Council through the work of Evolving Inverurie (a charity set up to help the community manage the development of the town) to determine the aspirations and priorities of communities in Inverurie and Port Elphinstone. This information will be considered in the preparation of the Local Development Plan for 2029 - 2039

Come along and share your thoughts on the places and buildings that matter most to you and to tell us where, if anywhere, you would like to see future development.

This is a free drop-in event and will be held at Inverurie Bowling Club on Thursday 13th March 2025 anytime between 3pm and 7pm.
